CP charges in the west

A mate currently in the area recently mailed me with a trip update including current CP fees

- Port Hedland $52

- Sth Hedland $44

- Has been told that Exmouth is $57

- Point Sampson (Cove Point) closing to tourists soon

Fortunately, he is well set up for bush camping.

oops .. update of Sth Hedland to $44 not $4  ... G

Wow! Last year it was $45 at Exmouth, and South Headland was $40 per night, powered sites. I dont think it would be safe to free-camp anywhere near either of these towns, although Cape Range NP is a lot cheaper near Exmouth. (sites limited, very difficult to get in).
For us it will be a once only trip, glad we did it.

Gday...

Just got back from WA - only in SW and only got to Kalgoorlie. However, I made the comment about high prices ($35/night) at Norseman Van Park when we arrived.....the response was "I see you're from Victoria, get used to it"

Luckily I bush camp predominantly - a bloke could go broke REAL quick in WA.

Cheers - John

We're paying $32/night in SA and paid $33 at Broken Hill. So not that much different in those states. Depends on location, time of year etc. But also means you have to balance the cost out with some free camping nights.

Have the mines brought them out??????

DITTO to that Rocklizard, we are set up for free camping and do that as much as one can,at this time we are farm sitting  to try and save some money so we can keep going, we came around the top in the off season and could not beleave the prices.

We will never come back to W.A.

you do have to shop around in WA, here's one site that will give you a 50% discount for seniors and pensioners ($10.00 a night) AND It's in WA

Quote from their site: Discounts

Pensioners, Seniors Card Holders and registered members of CMCA and Caravan Clubs receive 50% discount.
