My DH and I are leaving central Victoria (home) for Qld at the weekend. We are planning to 'stroll' there. But I was wondering if there are many of 'us' already on the road. We will be travelling 'inland'. Do you think we would have to book up ahead for a CP or take pot-luck, as we usually do? We don't mind doing a free-camp if necessary... Thanks, Jay-Jay
Hi Jay Jay when you say you are travelling inland will you be coming through Inverell on your way up to the Sunshine state? There is a free park just before you hit Bundarra and it is on the river and absolutely lovely and peaceful. Lots of caravanners camp there overnight or for a few days on their way through. Thought that info might be helpful to you. Regards Michelle
Hi Jay, we are heading up to Cairns,we leave on Sunday but will proberly be a day or two behide you as we live down the penninsula in Vic.We were thinking the same as you (will we need to book CP ahead. This is our first trip in the van so it is all new to us,like you we wont mind free campimg but proberly only over night as we are not geared up for it,and will only do it when we get up north ( so its warmer lol)We hope to travel inland to. Cheers Jill
Thanks guys for that info,we will arrive Cairns about the 18th/19th June i guess it would be wise to book c/p for there ? We will be staying about 12 days and then slowly making our way back down the coast,do we need to book for there or do you think we can do it a couple of days ahead for each c/p as we dont want to tie ourselves down with having to get from one park to another because we have prior booked so then if we like a spot we can stay longer and not worry that we have booked down the coast and have to get there .Sorry i hope this makes sense. Cheers Jill
