G'day from 2 newbies

Just joined up and saying g'day.  Hopefully we'll be joining all you lucky people on the road very shortly, just waiting to sell our property.  We have just purchased our caravan and will be picking it up Friday.

Our intention is to travel around this great land of ours hopefully picking up some work here and there just to help with expenses.  We both have stressfull jobs that we'll be glad to see the end of and get some relaxation in the process.

We are setting up our van so that we can free camp as much as possible with the occasional van park along the way.  No doubt we will seeking advise from those of you that have more experience than us, that would mean just about everyone here.

Anyway we will post up when we set off and hope to see lot's of other nomads on the road.

Welcome Jen n Gaz, great to have you come and join us.  Looks like you have some great adventures ahead of you.

I too love the free camping as opposed to CPs and only stay in them as the need arises, eg......when working etc.

It is very easy to find work as you travel....and sometimes it finds you.

Hi Jen & Gaz & welcome!

You will love every minute of your travels. We took 2 years off with my partner escaping her stressful teaching job & we managed to circumnavigate most of Aus apart from Tassie & Far Nth Qld.

We started off using caravan parks mainly and gained more confidence as we went so bush camped more and more as time went by. Also, we traveled the south coast of Aus through winter early in our trip so the electricity and amenities at the parks was handy.

Enjoy yourselves

Cheers

Jon & Hylda

Takes a lot to get setup correctly for free camping. Being setup correctly is pure magic. Haven't been into a van park for years

Hi and welcome Jen and Gaz,

I haven't been here very long either but can I tell you that you will be warmly welcomed and given excellent advice without anyone thinking you are silly or anything for asking (what you may think) dumb questions. They are answered with honesty and experience. We are yet to get our van and 4WD but we are actively looking now so it shouldn't be too far away, just waiting for my super to happen lol.
Have fun here I know I do *grins*
Regards, Michelle

Well, well, well, 2 newbies. Welcome to the Grey Nomads. Nice of you to join us. I hope you enjoy your stay.
I recommend doing a lot of reading through this site and all the forum topics to acquaint yourself with the topics already covered, and to maybe answer some questions you may be wanting to ask. The answer is bound to be here. It's fairly easy to negotiate. If you don't find the answer to your questions, feel free to ask. There's a wealth of knowledge and experience here. Someone will be able to help you.
Safe and happy travels Froggy and Jen and Gaz.

Thanks for all the welcomes, had some encouraging news on the Home sales front and maybe the last barrier to freedom may have been hurdled. Finger Crossed.

Certainly will be seeking advise in the future, when I know what questions I need to ask. Ahh the blissful ignorance of a newbie!!!
