Burren Junction

Just putting this here too as I have no action on the query so far.

Does anyone know if the baths at Burren Junction are still open......IU have heard that they are no longer operational.   I hope it is just a nasty rumor, but some one must know................haven't found anything elsewhere on the net.

If it`s the same place we visited a couple of years ago I`d be frightened the water would poison my big toe and it would fall off !!....green algae everywhere.

They are still open, we have been there for a month or so (May). Atm there aren't heaps of people there so a good time to go and get a great park. Weather up here now is great. Nice and warm. (we live 100km away) Bingo is on at the local club Mon or Tues nights, raffle night Fridays.

If you want to go and are unsure if they are open, you can ring Walgett Council and they will be able to tell whether the pool is closed. I don't know why these rumours persist. Everyone thinks its closed. They do close for the summer months though.

cheers

Can`t remember where is was  and therefore not sure if is was BJ as said in previous notation, however the thermal bath was a round concrete area about 3.5m in diameter....green algae everywhere internal & external, not a pleasant spot at all.

So if I`m doing BJ a disservice my apologies and when I find the right spot will do a post to confirm, how`s that !!

If it was a 'couple years ago' whiteman, chances are it has been well and truly cleaned up by now.

Now I know for a fact that Pilliga has been drained and cleaned in the last 12 months.

I prefer BJ.

In all fairness I think there is some algae in all these bores but not enough to worry about. I know there is some in BJ and Pilliga but they are both free to enjoy. I get a bit defensive cause I live almost locally and have a soft spot for these places. If the pool were to be cleaned daily I think it wouldn't be long before the council put a charge on camping. The toilets are cleaned everyday.
