tossed a side

nowell I'm back on here again, a bit has happend since my last visit, got made redundant from my job of 12 years, how a truck driver can get made redundant i don't know but what's done is done, after sitting around feeling sorry for myself for awhile I'm now working for myself as a wide load pilot like CG, don't work for anyone in particular which is the way i like it,, I guess I'm not to badly off could be worse i guess, bought a land cruiser and made a few mod's to it, but i can't see us hitting the road full time and time soon but at least I'm my own boss now, maybe the old employer did me a favor  but sometimes you still feel like an old peice of rag no longer neededconfuse

Yes your boss did you a favour, you are now in charge and if things go wrong there is no one else to blame.

As your own boss even lowly work becomes more satisfying and one day you will look back and realise that what has happened was a turning point in your life and you now have greater control over your life.

All the best.smile

Cheers

David

Loyalty and length of service doesn't seem to count for much these days.  Good luck with your new venture bb57, at least now any money you make is yours (except for the tax man of course). furious

Cheers!

Chris

Sometimes life gves us a kick in the butt to make us move on to something better. Forget your old employer, be glad you are free of them! And enjoy this new opportunity you have made for yourself BB!

Yep - welcome back BB - not nice being put off work - but sometimes good things come from bad things - enjoy the piloting - where are you working out of - what state?

It could be a sign of the times.
My brother in law put some workers off the other day, building industry.
One was his brother and one was a lovely guy in his 70s who he has worked alongside since 1972. B in L said it was the worst day of his life. There was more than 2 put off but they were two he didn't want to do. Just had no more work for them and had won no new jobs since last October.
The concretors are going at the end of the job they are working on now.

Being self employed is a new direction but hell who wants to stay pointing int he same direction all the time,,,,,I just went out and bought a metal detector so thats somethig that i hope to give a try at in my spare time, anyone ever used one ??? ican also devote more time to getting land sailing up and in the public eye here in Adelaide now as well, so yeh it's not all bad....not at all
