Hi Guys,

this should maybe in the Tech section but I thought it should be here for everybody to see, I have checked this out with http://www.hoax-slayer.com/july-thousands-lose-internet.shtml and it looks legit.

for XP go to http://www.dcwg.org/detect/checking-for-dns-changer-on-windows-xp/ 

or for Win 7 http://www.dcwg.org/detect/checking-windows-7-for-infections/ 

Now scroll down and select your system, you are looking for a green result, if its red its means you are infected with the DNS Changer malware and could loose your internet connection after 9th July 2012

All of my computers get a green result

I am always a bit afraid of going into those sites incase they are the nasties. I know you say you have checked it out in hoax-slayer, wombat, but I'm always so wary. How can I be so sure.

 Hi HW, I have tried it on all of my systems and all is fine, the only other option if you really do not want to test your system is to wait until the 9th July, if you still have internet connection after that day then your system was not infected.

If you do try it and your system is red then they do list on their page further instructions to clean your system.

Once you have clicked on wombats link you will find a list of sites in blues and whites. On the very left hand side any that you click on will take you to the next step and show you red or green. Pick anyone and see what happens.
I have Win 7 and picked the first one.

I'm not sure whether this thing goes beyond just the MS operating systems or not, it's a trojan. I read on the information section of the site
Google commenced notifying users affected by DNSChanger malware on 22 May 2012
Facebook also commenced notifying DNSChanger victims on 4 June 2012

 I think it's just MS but I could be wrong, I got the info from a tech site I subscribe to.

As for facebook, I do not have it.
