Wedge Island

Glad you clarified it was in WA not SA. I used to work on a Cray boat around Wedge Is in SA. You definitely cant drive there as its 20mile out to sea. And there is houses out there now, but you have to fly in & out.

But you can only stay there if you are in some ones house! No caravans or campers allowed. But yes it is a great spot, beautiful beach that you can drive on and good fishing.

Just don't go swimming or surfing around there, a surfer was mauled and killed by a shark just south of Wedge Island this morning. That entire section of the WA coast is a haven for sharks and most are white pointers.

When we are home(which isn't very often!!) we live about 30 kms south of Wedge. Our kids and grandies spend a lot of time along that section of the coast. They often see sharks there but further out in the deeper stuff not so close to shore. They seem to be coming in closer and closer to the shoreline than in previous years all along the coast.
