Gday...

Know it well ... pretty place. You may notice the citrus farm just before you get to the Dam - that is where I was picking mandarins and oranges last year.

Oh really John, I did see one out there. I thought you were picking out at Gayndah.

Ken Thomas, his wife Lyn and I went out there for a drive. Had a good look around. Decided despite there being a cost it could be as good as Greens Lake.

Gday...

Nup ... stayed in the Biggenden Van Park and drove in each day - it was a pleasant drive each day as well. Really enjoyed the van park, the drive, the countryside and the family who owned the orchard.

I had thought about living at Paradise Dam but they didn't have showers so I decided to stay at the van park in town.

cheers - John

Yep, I knew you were at the caravan park. Did you know there was a dump point there at the time or has that just been put in. I don't remember it being there last year. Its out in that triangle at the end of the caravan park.

Gday...

I think there was a dump point outside the park - outside the western boundary. However, I never made use of it, if it was there, as I simply used the facilities of the van park.

cheers - John

Gday...

I go that particular job through Jobsearch - on the internet. Just go to

Just go to http://www.jobsearch.gov.au/ register and take it from there.

Payment is on 'contract rates' - eg $110/bin of mandarins - $50/bin of oranges.

It was fairly easy to pick a bin of mandarins a day (8am-4pm) and three bins of organges a day (8am-4pm)

cheers - John

I just heard there is a new CV park in Biggenden.

I think for memory it's called Marj's Tourist Resort. Correct me if I'm wrong, my memory has started to slow down a tad.

Looks good up there Marj, I will get up that way one day, hopefully sooner than later.

I looked at pictures of Paradise Dam last year when we were looking for a Qld get together. Definitely have to make a point of visiting the area.

Not a bad Resort Doug. Large expansive grounds, trees and plenty of birds. Fantastic views of surrounding farmland. Sealed road to entrance, dirt road 1 foot. Great neighbours, will come for a chat. Exercise area (gardening by the hour or two)

Or chill out under your awning on your campchair and enjoy the serenity.

I rememlber that Beth. Not enough room to have a large circle of vans though. All park along the bank of  the dam in a row. Small in comparison to Gympie Cobb and Co.

That's right. Also someone said it'd be colder so close to the water. I also suspect it'd be very hot in Summer, so maybe a Spring or Autumn camp. wink

I've got the same now. Bought off Ebay. 120 watt for $259.00. Heavy but worth the effort.
