Hi everybody, I hope I am not starting something that has been well tested over the years. I have used an Engel for the past 15 years, and it finally wouldn't do much under 3/4 degrees, so after a bit of a look around I picked up a 60l Primus. I am quite impressed with build quality, stainless steel but after running for 1 hour or so the electrics gave up completely. Back to dealer who quickly replaced it with a new one. This one has been doing well for the last mon th or so.
Is there anyone out there using these units, how reliable are they.
I have had a couple of evap primus fridges over the years which have been good but basically most of the main players are using the same compressors in a different box these days.
I've run Engle's and now a Waeco which is just starting to give me trouble after about 8 years, I think it is because it actually sat in the shed for about a year doing nothing but it now needs a new poly fuse due to it not liking to run on 12v and the compressor seems to be drawing a bit too much current so it may be time to upgrade myself.
Also what size/type are you talking, chest or up right?, my primus frigdges have all been upright and the others camping chests.
Thanks for your reply Damo, I should have included more info, my fridge is a chest fridge freezer running a Polar compressor. There will be no rest for this one as we are taking a year or two travelling around the block.
