Hi Campers

While away recently and going from warm days and cold nights - we got quite a bit of condensation in the upper compartments, these are on both sides of the wardrobe at the back of the caravan. This was only on the shaped back 'wall'... (know where I mean?) Wondering if I could stick/cover this area and absorb any moisture or maybe just keep that area a little warmer with something..  Any ideas?...  Thanks, Jay-Jay

Try leaving the doors open on those compartments?

Try a few "Damprid" containers around jay-jay. Good idea to keep a couple on the go all the time anyway.

Hi Guys

Yes I have left these doors open during the day when possible but cannot when we are travelling - everything falls out.  cry  What is this 'Damprid'? Does the supermarkets keep it or where?  Trouble is, these 'walls' get quite wet not just damp.  I think these 'walls' are metal (?) not wood lined like my other 'cupboards'... hmm  Thanks, Jay-Jay

Damprid is a product that absorbs excess moisture in an area - available from supermarkets, hardware stores and cheapy shops - all moisture is absorbed into the container, then you just throw it out and replace it.

Works a dream.

Some of the cheap shops have them on special at the moment. 4 for $5.00 I am sure I saw at Flash Harrys in Bundy on the weekend. Also saw them at Sam's Warehouse. They are quite small, no bigger than a saucer, just pop them in the bottom of your cupboard.

Thanks for your help - I'll look out for damprid next time I'm out shopping.  Though I was wondering if I could glue some fabric on that wall then condensation wouldn't happen - or would it?...  So many questions...  biggrin   Jay-Jay

It sounds strange as you say its not just condensation but very wet. Sounds like some sort of building fault in that area. You may need some sort of insulation fitted.

Don't think the gluing of material would work, mate, try the damprid first, and maybe get someone to look at it - a pinhole will let in a lot of moisture, even if it is only dew.
