Invite To "Elle On Wheels" Life Celebration On The East Coast

I received this invite today by email which I am sure some of you would have received also to celebrate the life of one of our wonderful members the late Elle On Wheels;

Dear Ellen's friends and relatives,

Attached to this email is a very warm invitation to join the life
celebration of our dear friend, sister and aunty, who some of us knew as
Margy, Elle, and Elle on Wheels. As you know, Ellen had many precious
connections on the eastern side of Australia as well as in the west and
south, so we have called her second celebration (the first being in
Denmark, Western Australia) in Carcoar, near Bathurst, which is where
Ellen was born. I do hope you will come add your yarns and your photos
and memories to this occasion, it wouldn't be the same without you!

There will be live music - as well as some of Ellen's faves, which she
decreed we must "suffer", food to share and you can count on plenty of
stories, no doubt some of them will be quite as outrageous as Ellen was
in her younger days. If you feel moved to bring a tipple, also bring an
Elle-egant glass. If you fancy sharing a dish that you and Ellen loved,
bring that too, perhaps on an elle-evated plate!

If you will need accommodation to come play in Ellen's party grounds,
please contact Liz or Estrella, I'm sure we can work something out.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO RSVP BY AUGUST 31, gotta make sure we have enough
foodage!

Photos of Ellen are quite rare coz she didn't like cameras unless she
was behind the lens.. If she was in photos, it was most often in the
background someplace, looking anywhere but at the camera. So if you have
a photo or two of Ellen, would you please scan them and send them to me,
Estrella, at elowe@nswrdn.com.au ?

In the meantime, how about you add something to the Blogspot that Liz
set up for Ellen, go to ellenremembrance.com.au

Thanks to JRH also for his work in the background earlier! biggrin 

For info, my sister and neice went to Elle's send off in Denmark (WA) and said it was a blast.  My sister had met and socialized with Elle previously and had a BBQ organised for her before her last hospitalization and passed away.

I would urge anyone who is in the vicinity over east to go along, I guarantee you will enjoy yourselves in remembering Elle, she certainly left a large whole in peoples lives and was very generous to GN's, as Yeoeleven can vouch for.  I was fortunate to have done an overnighter on Elle's property organised by Yeoeleven with Elle's permission.

I will be in Queensland in September otherwise I would attend the celebration, Ellen generously invited me to stay on her farm and I have fond memories of walking on the beaches with her and two of her dogs as well as going to Albany with her on farm business, buying veges at her special farm places.

Sadly our plans of camping in tandem never did get off the ground.
