Peterborough (Steamtown)

We are at Peterborough van park and tonight went to the Steamtown sound and light show.  Even though I am not a train enthusiast I thoroughly enjoyed the show; it was just so interesting! Cost was $20 per person, and well worth it. Brenda

Hi Brenda & Alan
We were there last year around June, it was quite a lovely place, definitely RV friendly, van spaces every where. Very helpful visitors info Center. We went out to Terowie, a little place off the beaten track where the American General McCarthur said his famous 'I shall return'. There is also a reference at the same rail yard about Bob the railway dog. True story, read the book this year. At the same town there is also an interesting yard full of spaceships etc, heh, heh.
The big things I remember is that it was bloody cold.
Hope you have fun there exploring the surrounding area.

confuse On our last visit to Peterborough I suggested to the boss we should but the old Town Hall building that had been renovated and turned into a home and from memory it was fairly cheap unfortunately no interest, we stayed at the Caravan Park where the train set is on the entry boom gate, we also celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with dinner at the local pub.biggrinbiggrin
