Unfortunately I have a water leak in my gas/240 Volt water heating system.I am hoping it's just a leaking water pipe or connection.
If not, it's one of those cost as much to fit as the cost of a new unit. New unit $950 approx.
I have a Pommie Carver system imported from the UK by Coromal Caravans of WA.
Yup you guessed it ......No longer available in Oz.
One good point is the dimensions of the USA Suburban unit is the same externally but over twice the water capacity from 9.8 litres for the Carver and 22.6 for the US one.
Normally I would have stripped it down and done it myself. But Gas needs an expert fitter both for safety and legal reasons.
Since the unit is tied in with a heat exchanger from the exhaust, the pipework is like a bunch of spaghetti. Now to find someone not booked out for months ahead.
Oh well the other side of the equation of the big lap.
I am not 100% sure as I bought the vehicle already built and it had done 77 thousand K's.
I think the water system is around Eight years old,Stainless tank so I am a little surprised but not totally.
I have managed to get it booked in in the later part of the month to replace with a Suburban unit which I am told is good quality and the main brand fitted these days.
I suppose if I get another eight to ten years it won't be too bad..
