Going to Tasmania at the end of November

Plan B is working out well I am camped just below Townsville and by tonight will be at Bluewater Park 30kms north of Townsville, I have moved up here quickly and intend to catch up with the budget by staying for a while in the excellent free camps within 30kms of there. Toomulla Beach where I stopped on the way back to the Gold Coast, Balgal Beach and Bushy Parker Park at Rollingstone.

The plan is to winter north and summer south and travel inland between the extremes and to that end have booked a trip to Tasmania from the 30th November (the last day of the cheaper prices) and the 14th January when I can get a day trip, the all up cost for a pensioner in a small campervan is $333. That is a big deal for me and I will have to recoup that cost over the next 4 months with free camping and staying longer in camping spots.

I am excited about the prospect of going to Tasmania having read from this forum about the fantastic free camping available all around Tassie and the picturesqe scenery. There will be many GNs travelling Tassie at this time and I would like to link up with as many as possible so I might have to venture on to the General Forum to see who are likely to be there at that time.

Anyway I thought that I would share my excitement with you all and look forward to meeting up with some of you in Tassie later this year.

John

Fantastic for you John. I envy you.

Being now back in the land of the employed I will have to put things on hold for a while but my time will come.

Enjoy your adventure.

Cheers,

John

Hi Blaze,

We had a few wee ones with them Saturday Night, Your new van was mentioned, so no you are not forgotten. As I write 40knot winds from the south West with snow laying. Not a comfortable night. have part of the property on the market which is slow at the moment, but will be off when thats signed up.

stay safe
