The following can only apply to G/N solos, as we can't blame anyone else. (??) The bed in my Mazda is east west, at the back. It takes two steps to reach the "kitchen", and another two to reach the drivers seat. The storage area top, which is on the left hand side of the bed, is usually covered in an array of "things". On the way to the kitchen, I see that "someone" has left a screwdriver among the things. I am intent on making a cuppa, but best I put the screwdriver away first. Outside, and about to go around to the boot, which, as far as I can remember, is at the back, and I notice that one of the ropes holding my "awning" is loose. Best attend to that now. Put the screwdriver down, and while holding the rope, notice that the rear outside tyre is a bit low. The compressor is in the boot. Now where did I put the keys? I start opening draws, while muttering, "If I ever find the useless bastard who sneaks into my bus at night, and rearranges and hides things!"..... The keys are hanging on the hook where they usually are? Round the back, and unlock the boot. Pull everything out, as the compressor, with the built in power source is right at the back, naturally! Hmmmmm. "Didn't know I still had one of those thingamajigs!?" Best take everything out of the boot, and sort it. Best empty the tool box too, and sort stuff out. Upend the tool box. What about that cuppa. Go back inside, and put the kettle on. Right, one cup, milk. OK. Now, back to the tool box. Wait. Should make the bed first. On the side area is a copy of "Just Bikes". Open it up. There sure is a lot of motorcyles for sale. Kettles boiled. Coffee's ready. Reach in the cupboard and turn the main gas supply off. Hmmm, should check the "pantry" while I have the door open. Where did I put that note paper and pen. There on the desk. By gee there's some dust under the desk. Best sweep it up now. Hang on, better check the water and oil, as I might have to go somewhere today. Oh, there's that washing that has to be done. Best look in the "wardrobe" just in case there's something else to wash. Oh, the compressor, and the tyre. Outside. round the back with a chair, and the motorcycle book. It's a really beautiful day, so I'll just sit and enjoy the coffee. Should put them tools away, and pump up that tyre. I look at the clock. Bugger, doesn't time fly when you are busy. It's just another day. Regards
Pipes, that is just so familiar. Living on your own, and the mess that one person can make, I am always amazed. The down side is that one has to have a darn good talking to that person and hope to god that nobody else is listening at the door. Wonderfully written and as Dawa said, how good it is that we can laugh at ourselves.

My chauffeur has been saying for ages that there is a gremlin living in our motorhome with us & he puts in strange places tools etc which Keith has just put down where he knew where it was but has now disappeared to some hidey hole.

when our kids were small we had a fifth child whose name was "not me" perhaps my child has moved to your place.
I usually deligate jobs in that case Me can do that, Myself can do that other one and I can do that other thing. You can blame someone else if something doesn't get done that way.

I know that person who does this stuff! It's me! I start one job and end up weeding the garden, or putting something into the car, or sitting under the awning or talk to the neighbour which turns into a cuppa. What did we do before we retired? I barely have time to work these days.
