am looking for advice concerning a place to stay for a couple of days in early September, have been there previously and not too impressed with CP`s or cost.........free camp ok if safe to leave van unattended for short periods.........comments please.
The Lions park opposite the airport. it is supposed to be a day rest spot but myself and lots of others have stayed there overnight. On my way past I have seen caravans parked there with the vehicle gone during the day. A friend who has stayed there more than me said a bus comes around if you want a ride into town but don't know how that works. I would be happy to leave a vehicle or van there while going off for the day. At nights it is packed with overnighters. The toilets are locked at 4.30pm for the night. There is also a dump point there.
The next closest would be the Sharon Free camp out on the Gin Gin Road. I haven't parked there myself but have friends who have. Not sure about leaving a van there all day while you are away though.

SHOANA..a big welcome also and while I only get to Bundy now and then to visit family, your offer is very generous and appreciated, so THANK YOU. We are currently thinking about testing out the services at Alloway Country Club for a few days in early September, should that not prove satisfactory or booked out, will make contact.
With Kind Regards
Frank

Stayed at Alloway Country Club for 3 days recently....now costing $15 pn for 2 ADs, (was advertised at $10) for power and bore water .
Bistro only available Thursday to Sunday.
Location is about 15k south of city on the Woodgate Road, some nights are noisier than others, however parking is dead level with close cut green grass, but doubt we would stay there again.
