yes we haven,t been on the site for a while as I am laid up in bellingen hospital, yes it just gets better and better,I think we ran over a chinaman or I better rephrase that a politician lol. well sit down because this is going to be a long post. after taking the car away and being told that it was a master cylinder, the dealership where the car was taken did some tests on it to find that nissan had designed a new braking system for patrols. the dealership who we bought it off and the dealership who the car was taken to did not ,yes I said did not realize that the new patrols has this system ,we are talking 8 months into 2012 and both service managers did not know of this new system .,so how many other dealerships don't know. a master cylinder was not needed , but to cut a long story short when we got the patrol back the brakes had been adjusted and the pedal didn,t go to the floor. all thru this both dealerships took every 2012 patrol out of the yard and took them for a test run and they were all the same, boy oh boy what are these service managers being paid for , while all this was going on there were a lot of discussions and so we decided to ring head office in melbourne who were absolutely disgusted. the service manager who works at the dealership where we bought the car was quite unconcerned when we first started our discussions but after a little talk with melbourne ,didn't he change his tune ,so someone has hauled him over the coals. my husband even said to him at one stage ,don't play me for a fool ,so look who is the uneducated fool . we have had a nissan before and think they are great cars and know how they work but it seems that a few of the experts who work with them constantly don't. one other little titbit of news for anyone who has a 2007 patrol that has problems with the dash blistering ,this is a claytons recall on nissan's behalf, ours was blistered and also 2 other friends of ours who found out by chance that the glue was a bad batch ,nissan did not send out any letters and said that ours must have fell thru the cracks,so if anyone has a problem with their 2007 patrol ,get to the nissan dealership and get it repaired as soon as possible and it will be fixed under a goodwill program . we would like to say thank you and [ words are not enough] to express our thanks for the numerous reponses and words of support and knowledge [that nissan seem not to have] from our family, as that is what we are ,oops thats a song I might start singing.
thanks john and kay
ps I said to john :this car stinks" I don't want it anymore ,but its a beautiful car.
Well - a good result - yes? But hope you are well - didn't explain why you where in hospital - left us hanging. Good that people pass on information that manufacturers don't or won't tell the public - this is our lives they are dealing with, after all!!!

woke up thru the night with horrendous pain ,went to emergency at 2am Bellingen hospital and found out it is a kidney and bladder infection, fantastic staff ,keep these hospitals open ,the old country hospital ,just like what we have at home in bulli and they are always trying to close that.I am resting up now still in hospital , I am not a good patient lol,as I just want to get back out there
I have a friend who was a state service rep for a major car company , He told me if you have trouble with the service of a dealer your contact state office and they would get the state service manger to look into it , Hope your health and Tug are back to normal soon remember it is only one part of the Tug which is causing you a problem and that can be fixed, No matter how good a tug is there is always a chance of something going wrong ,It's not what goes wrong it's how it managed when it does
Oh Kay I'm sorry, but I couldnt help thinking about your "waterworks" infection... a naturopath might suggests its probably because you were soooo "Pi$$ed off" !!! Understandably so.
Its good to hear that at least your new car is gonna be ok, and you've lit a fire under those smug dealerships. Hope you are feeling much better.
yes gerty I have just been read the riot act by our eldest daughter ,who is a herbalist and told me that I need to start looking after myself as I get older mmmmm, and has wrote me out a prescription for what to buy at the health store, who is the parent here? lol . And yes I think the trouble with the car would have a lot to do with it, maybe I should send a bill to nissan ha!ha!
Stress can certainly do it. Nearly 4 years ago the same happened to me and I ended up in the Bundaberg Hospital on an overnight stay. I was rolling around the floor in emergency, the pain like I had never felt before. It was the day my grandson had been born and their parents weren't getting on even then. Tells it all doesn't it. A very stressful time.
