Look What I found

Hi Grahame, they are the best I came across after looking for something that would virtually stop anyone who try's to hook up my van. I lock my hitch as well with a padlock. Had mine a couple of years now, sure gives peace of mind.

It's a hitch lock. Simply put the ball into your hitch. Expand the ball with the allan key and lock it. Let's see the ba...ards try stealing my van!

I know there are other devices out there, but you can't remove this with an angle grinder

It's on ebay at just $14.29 + $11.96 postage from the UK. The link is:

I used to have one of these locks and they are good, however I left the device in the hitch for nearly a year and rust jammed the thing. If you do have one just make sure you don't leave it in situ  too long.

And weld your nuts onto the bolts which attach the coupling otherwise they can just undo the coupling and replace

Grease it up before attaching, and maybe cover it with a plastic bage or something. It looks like a good idea.
I've never locked my van on site, but you've raised my suspicions now, so I might have to go and get a lock.

I had one but misplaced the keyfurious. Took a locksmith 1 1/2 hrs to remove it so my departure time was set back bleh.

The locksmith said it was one of the best he had seen.

They will take anything - we had our van on a pad at the front of the house, came out and someone had cut the power lead (the one that goes from van to car) - right at the van connector end - and being a 7 point plug (one of the old round ones) - the auto elec wanted $150 to fix it - but hubby being clever fixed it for about $20. Thing was we had a trailer sitting on opposite side of driveway for years with the same plug - never touched that!!!!!

Thanks for that ,just ordered one. When we had the old dear no one would have given her a second look. Now we have a nice 21.6 ft Roadstar some one is quite nervice about leaving it on its own.. This may help with the nervers... Just keeping the insurance payed up will also help...

Had one year back call Trailer Cop came with about 4 keys . they do need the occasional squirt of WD 40 into the lock, don't drop that barrel lock in the dirt or lose the spring
