Hi Brian and Cheryl, nice to see you meeting up with Jim and Leonie again, perhaps another mini cook up eh??
Got the air bag fixed today, was the outlet fitting on it, so hope all is go now. The Mareba garage paid for it, so that was good.
Spent the afternoon fixing some brackets in the front boot of van after seeing what you had done. The hardware shop was just down the road. The front of the van was in the afternoon sun, and man was it hot. I hear you had rain!!
Changed the oil and filter before we left Leichhardt Lagoon. Dropped the container of waste oil off at a garage here.

Leave in morning for Burketown, Lawn Hill, and Borroloola, then swing back around through Mt Isa and down into Outback Queensland. Want to take in Winton and Longreach, but I hear the wing walk on the 747 is not cheep!!

Do not know what Internet coverage there is from now on, but will try and keep in touch with everyone. Will also do my best to keep out of the way of those big critters of the rivers.

Hi Kiwi-as - good to hear you got the air bag fixed. You will love the area around Lawn Hill and Borroloola - when you head down to the Isa - you can stay at Mary Kathleen - half way between Isa and Cloncurry - amazing place - old uranium town - the houses are gone, but concrete pads remain - we camped on the tennis court - first turn right when you turn in - walking around you find the old shops, community centre, old swimming pool etc - fantastic place for a couple of days - no water or any amenities.

Going to Winton - head down through Djarra and Boulia - there is a good billabong camp just north west of the town, off the Donohue Highway, then on to Winton - you will come to a stop called Hamilton - drinking water, toilet and cold shower. The next you see is some mesas popping up, looks amazing, then you come to a lookout - make sure to climb the hill at the back - the view is gobstopping - no other word for it.

Free camp at Winton is at the Long Waterhole off the Jundah Road - water is available at a large parking area behind the town on the Jundah Road.

We are heading to Longreach today.

I have a feeling that I heard that the 747 isn't open any more at Longreach, as it sank into the ground during heavy rain earlier this year. Can't remember who told me or when (could I have read it on here some time?), so I could be completely wrong or it might have been opened again by now anyway.

I just checked their website which was last updated 11th July and they are still advertising wing walk at $60 adult/ $55 pensioner. We would have to toss up who did it at that price!

Hi guys, great to catch up again. Good to see that the Air Bag issue finally got resolved. Yes caught up with Jim and Leonie at Rocky Creek. We did a bit of a throw in cookup last night, brought back memories. The weather here today has been a bit ordinary, raining for most of the day. Trust you get the dust matter resolved. I don't have anything to add to other comments so you should get a result in that. In saying that I don't qualify for a piece of Pav but I don't mind as I've already had my share. We are off to Carins Friday for a few days to catch up with family. Take care you two and enjoy your life. Best regards B&C

cheers
