I posted this in the general forum and then noted this techie forum. I shoulda looked first hey :)
Anyway here's the issue
We are in Ceduna at the moment. The motorhome is a Jayco and its a month old. The grey water tank is not emptying. its not the gauge the tank is definitely full but I am lucky to get 10 liters out if I open the valve. I had a shower yesterday and the water would not drain so its that tank for sure. The water is leaking out of the side of the van opposite to the release valve and i am very worried tthat it is contaminating the fresh water tank. I have had a look at the release valve and it seems to be working OK as I can see a gate swing down and up when I operate the release lever. There is a clear plastic hose from the waste tank to the release valve that is clamped off at both ends. I reckon it would take 5 minutes to unclamp it at thetank end and then it should drain. Will give it a try.
In the meantime If anyone out there has had a similar issue any help would be greatly appreciated

but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.
The water you see running out is probably coming from the breather.
When you open the gater valve. poke a thin piece of stick ou the pipe and see if you dislodge some muck.
If you have a couple of bends in the outlet pipe put a garden hose over the outlet end with the gate valve open and push pressure back into the tank, if its possible do the same with the breather, the outlet may be only 25mm and with this size it is easy for sink waste to block.
I have sussed it out. The grey water tank is fine and working as it should. The problem was with the header tank under the shower. There is a pipe on this leading to a T piece with one side going to the grey water tank and the other to a valve. When this tank fills it goes to the grey water tank via gravity. The leak is from the pipe where it joins this header tank. I emptied the tank via the valve on the T piece and no more leaks. I could just open this every time we have a shower and this will work until we can get it looked at. Its hard to get to by lying under the van so the temporary fix will have to do
I rang Jayco here in Perth. I could not get it in until the 12th of September but we won't be here then. They did give me a number of another agent here so I will give him a ring today.
