I was told by a seasoned traveller that if you ain't used in six months either store it, sell it,or turf it out.

What about all those man cave bits and pieces "That'll come in Handy ONE Day"

We.ve got rid of quite a few things we carted around, but generally after doing a few trips u work out which things u really need. Good luck and safe travelling.

Cheers

You'll work it out that you have too much when you can't get up the hills!smilesmile   Seriously, you'll leave things behind next trip, you'll work it out the more you go.

Hi robkim, and wellcome..,

Well this is such an interesting Question.. I have been a member og this group for a few years, and was reading all the time and thought i was learning,BUT when it came time to pack our totally beautiful 26ft Van,we packed it with things i dont know when the last time we even touched the things.. You see we are on a 2 year stint, so all was new.. We come from up Cairns way, and stayed at kurramine for 4 mths, and discovered we had way to many things,so when we were due to leave there and go we made a made dash home with 1/2 a car load of things, and we started to travel again, now i relise we dont need a 1/2 of what we have...Its very hard on your first time, but if postage was not that dear i would be sending a lot more home..Dont pack heavy, if you have not touched it in the last year at home, you want touch it on the road believe me....Safe Travells  Cheers...

Remember there is a limit to the ball weight i.e. the weight of the van on the tow ball, and the weight the tug can tow.

If your vehicle can tow 2000 kgs, and your van already weighs 1700, the most extra weight you can add is 300 kgs.

Remember that water weighs 1kg per litre too... its a bugger having to worry about weight, but its worse when you dont.
