Hi guys, I like others belong to another Forum and love both but! I just went to leave a comment on the other forum only to not be able to for some reason, I contacted the administrators only to be told that I now need to down load Tapatalk app to leave posts in future. The cost is $2.99 for the lite version, but it was the principal of 'if it's not broke etc'. I hope the admin team are not looking at it for this forum. I do love my computer but am very aware of where my personal info is on the web this site seems more attuned to twitter etc.

 Hi Dreamcaster,

I was under the impression that tapatalk was only for androids devices and that lots of forum are activated to use it but your choice of whether to use it or not. Sounds like that one is different.

Edit: they have a free verson. you can view but cant reply to messages. Yep $2.99 to post with it.

Easy one. This forum was set up as a place for grey nomads and wannabe grey nomads to exchange stories and advice … and to have a bit of fun. The aim is simply to enrich the travels of grey nomads, and so posting here is free. I cannot see a reason why that would ever change. I hope that puts your mind at rest, Dreamcaster.

Thanks for all the humour He! He! I must agree this forum is much friendlier than the other especially for newbies that just want some advise. I got a PM on the other one and could not answer it because of the same problem, very annoying. But on the flip side they must read this forum because they sent me an email to ask how they can help. The other forum is great too just a few people are very negative when someone asks a question or places a post trying to help others due to their experiences. Never mind I will just keep on looking at both but post on this one

This is the friendliest, most active forum - I visit a couple of others, but they get a big bogged down sometimes. Always someone good on here to have a chat - and yes - IT IS FREE!!!!!!!
Enjoy Dreamcaster51 -

What's the point of being able to read a forum and not comment?
Sounds dodgy to me. Forums are meant to be a forum where people can participate freely. Our comments are our own by virtue of copyright. If there's a charge, who owns the copyright of the comments.
I'd close my membership if I had to pay.

I think there is a bit of confusion here.

Tapatalk is a mobile phone application that costs a few $$s.

It is the app that costs, not the Forum.

My understanding is that Tapatalk apparently makes it easier/faster to read & reply to posts via your smart phone on Tapatalk-enabled forums, such as Caravaners Forum, compared to using the phones Internet browser.
