frogs on the hop now at charleville

It was only a short drive up to charleville fron cunnumalla but it was a warm day staying at the evening star, it seems quite nice and peaceful it is 6.30pm and still 27 degrees, phone coverage is not great and limited internet but thats fine. Ok stay well everyone.

Bailey Bar CP is really nice - staff are wonderful, friendly and obliging. Charleville as a town is a bit of a sad place I think - far too many empty shops, and even the big pub in town is closed!

Sounds like they need to find some mine-able stuff in the ground near there Jules!

yes went into town today at charleville to get some things for the wife and had a look around, lot of shops closed down, but would have been nice in its day. Staying at the evening star is nice and quite, clean, beautiful sunsets and of course the drive through sites are 8 meters wide and 20 meters long, no problems there. The only draw back is its about 8/9 klm's from town, but thats ok.

Take care everyone, enjoy each day.

I agree about looking for some mine-able stuff around Charleville - really needs a boost - maybe a really good free camp would be one drawcard - but then again there are heaps of caravan parks in town - one thing we did notice was a very sweet smell in the shopping precinct - asked a couple of people - could have been a tree - but then I noticed it was most noticable near the garbage bins in the streets - was very nice, whatever it was.

We spent several days in Charleville, it has more attractions than you would expect from a small town. The Bilby Experience was a complete dud, although you can't expect much for $5, and given it was the night of the Royal Wedding a couple of years ago we suspect that the person presenting was the 5th emergency. However the Cosmos Centre was fascinating, we went to both the night and day time experiences and thoroughly enjoyed both. The other tour we really enjoyed was the WWII tag-along tour, some fascinating information and sights.
