So sorry to hear of your troubles. It seems that it's been a collection of errors by people who should know better. At least they seem to be standing by the repairs anyway. Trust in spite of the hassles you are enjoying the the journey. We are at Barbinda and leaving for Hughenden on Wed or Thurs next week after getting the cruiser serviced. Take care and travel safe.
Jim and Leoni are here with us. Leoni has been having problems in being able to walk but seems to be getting better after some visits to a physiotherapist in Innisfail.
Anyway take and travel safe

Remember the problem I had with the leaking airbag a few weeks ago, after I had it replaced in Mareeba . Well at the same time they had to fix the rear locking diffs .
Was under the cruiser yesterday and noticed oil leaking from said diff. The short story is some of the studs have been cross threaded and will have to be replaced and a new gasket also. To their credit Mareeba are footing the bill, but it means another one or two nights in a van park here. I tried to get them to also pay a night or two park fees, but no luck. I may see if RACQ will come to the party.
The glass front of the oven that fell out at Lawn Hill. The replacement bracket is being posted to us in Charters Towers, for me to install.
Kiwi is not a happy chappy.
In saying that we have met so many nice people on our travels.
It is so frustrating when you pay a lot of money for so called "professionals" to do work for you and you end up with more problems than you started with. It has happened to me so many times whilst doing up the Winnie. People just don't seem to have pride in their work anymore. "Get it in, Get it out & Get the money" attitude seems to prevail. Glad to hear they are prepared to fix their stuff ups, but it still leaves you out of pocket for the extra stay. Hope you have a trouble free trip to Hughenden. If you go to Richmond, go to the dinosaur exhibition there, it is fascinating. They have yummy cakes at the coffee shop too.
Crikey - you are having a bad trot - Hope this is the end of the problems - are you in Charters Towers, or in that area somewhere? We are back in Brissy to get some stuff done on the MH, then off to Millmerran for a campoven cookout festival, then down south before catching ferry to Tassy!! Heading to Kalbar (near Boonah) for the weekend to see daughter and grandsons.
Take care - drive safe - but most of all enjoy

No one seems to take care or pride in their workmanship nowadays. You have all heard our sorry tale where we had to get warranty work done on warranty work. Then yesterday i got a letter from Centrelink saying I had neglected to give them certain information & the dire consequences of doing so. So I stood in a hot phone box for 20 mins (can't use a mobile for those 13 numbers when there is a wait of over 15 minutes - too expensive). When I got through they looked up my info & yes I had given them the info needed on 20th. Aug in Maroochydore but the person who attended me FORGOT to tick the box that says I had updated info. I was not a happy camper

Mate ; it seems good help is of a short supply up here in that industry as I have been offered three jobs in the last few weeks, one at a toyota dealership, one at a RACQ & another at a general repairer. The last offers were only 15mins apart. I'm more than happy to be out of the game but RACQ allowed me to use their workshop for2.5 hrs as they did not have time to do the job, it also saved me some money.

yep well ya all know the troubles we had with our van when we got it well i found something else the other week .i asked them to replace the power outlet on the left side of the van and noticed the other day the screws they used go through and stick out inside . just disappointing that mindless people have jobs doing professional work with there i go to work i do a job i go home i get paid stuff the customer . thats why we make sure we go out of our way for our customers in ten yrs we have never had a complaint .
we had a guy do the floor boards on our back deck . after he finished his first day i was standing looking out the back window and low and behold where the pool fence meets the deck the fence was leaning 30 ml over at the top (im big on lining things up posts windowes all sorts of things hehe i even was lining up the safety wire with buildings in sydney on the weekend i gota get a hobby ). i ripped the boards up and had to tell della to get him to do it again and all he said was i didnt notice it i mean how much does it take to show a bit of pride in what you do .

tradespeople are not what they were like in your days, all they want is the money, but there are a few out there that still do a good job, if you find one, don't loose his/her phone number.
