My fuel economy

I've finally got it worked out!

Normal driving around here including highway driving is 7.96lt/100kms or 12.56 km/lt.

While towing on this trip it was 11.48lt/100kms or 8.71km/lt. I averaged 80-90kph.

I know the first figure is pretty good but is that towing figure what I should expect? confuse

Thats very good Beth.
Myrtle gets 13 litres per 100ks, so you have done well.

I was a little concerned because I seemed to be topping up every time we came to a town, but it is only a 53lt tank so I guess that's to be expected.

Mostly I tried to top up when it got to half way.

I get about 16.5 lts/100 km with my Gas/Petrol 90 series Prado and Avan Camper. Gas and petrol are very similar. Just a tad thirsty.

Try this milo.

Actual trip Klm's   =314.8

Actual litre's used =56.24

For Klm's per litre -:

Kilometers travelled 314.8 divided by litres used 56.24 = 5.60 kilometers per litre.

For litre's per 100 Klm's -:

Remove decimal point from litres used 5624 divided by kilometers travelled 314.8 = 17.86 litres per 100 Klm's

I have an excel speadsheet where I put in the mileage/fuel etc and it calculates for me. Interesting figures. Always high when a head wind and now lower while crawling over the QLD rough roads!!!!.
Have put bigger tyres on the ute so will be interesting to see what difference they make. Already the speedo and the Navman readings are closer - gone from 10km difference to about 5km now.
Am leaving Chinchilla today and heading Via Miles to Theodore then across to Longreach. Plan on taking up the offer of volunterring at the Stockmans for a few weeks so maybe catch someone there.

Well I've missed both of you valnrob and spida! Darn! I was at Chinchilla on Wendesday night, at the weir, and went through Yuleba on Tuesday, and back past on Wednesday. We had a quick trip to Injune. If you happen to go to Injune, check out the Art Gallery next to the info centre. There's a display of my cousins quilts. They are quite magnificent, even if, like me, you're not into quilting.
