first time on road for new trailer.

After the outboard on my charter boat broke down , and the new one not arriving til the end of next week, I decided to put the time to good use and try out the new trailer I built to house the slide on.I am off to Wallaces landing, nr Inkerman hill in the Burdiken, Qld, to get some mud crabs, hopefully.I got 10 in two hours there last year.It will be a good run for the new"van". I hope in goes well. I will post as I can. Bill

Made it to Wallaces landing without a hitch. The combination went well, better than I hoped. Am having a cuppa, and then will put some crab pots in. Mud crab for tea, hopefully. Will take some pics and post them . Its not a bad spot here, with toilets and solar lights , but not much else, except crabs and fish, I hope .See ya soon, Bill

Got two small crabs and a herring on a prawn, but I think it will be slow until the tide turns. The sandflies are fierce, and are eating aerogard for breakfast. The tides are better tommorrow, and then I might go to Wadjunga, when a mates father has a house. The beach fishing is good there.Hope there's a few crabs tommorrow. Bill

Got two nice muddies for the nrl grand final feed, and about half a dozen small one, which I released. Still lots of sandflies, but the crabs will taste good when I watch the storm flog the bull dogs. Off to Bowen to see my 82 yr old uncle, and then to Peter Faust dam to see if I can get a big Barra and some red claw crays. The muddies will tast good. Bill

Stopped off at Bowen to see the uncle and had a nice muddie for lunch. I must admit it went down well with cleansing ale. Filled up at Proserpine for $1,49 a ltr, and worked out that i was doing 7.58 klms to the ltr at between 80 and 90 klms per hr, which is about what I expected. Now at Camp Kanga, at Peter Faust dam. Powered site for $22 a night. Will have ago at the Barras tmrow morning, after seeing the grand final. Tv and phone reception, is reasonable.Might have the other crab for tea, just for something different.See Ya , soon, Bill

Am at Funny Dunny Park, just nth of Wadjunga, and its blowing a gale from the SE. Got a nice bream and a flathead of the beach, but the wind is problem. The road in is a mixture of dirt and bitcumen, and not too bad, There is only one other van at the camp, and I will go back down the beach for another fish early tmrom. No tv , but internet works. Its bush turkey war , here at the moment. The males are fighting , and chasing the hens about(sounds like a sat night at the h'shoe bay pub).Got some nice bream down on the beach, this morning. Will keep a couple, and give the rest to friends. Will probably go to bushy park at Rollingstone, tmrow. See ya soon, Bill

Had some bad and good luck , today.Overnight, I had a flat tire, and when I removed it , I found I had only ONE ubolt holding the axle on, and the other was loose.I had to go into town to pick up the new outboard, so I bought one for $5 at Eclipse trailers. I was lucky it didn,t happen when I was doing 80 klms p hr.Fixed it pretty easily , and now am back home, on Magnetic Island.Found I don,t like towing, and might go back to the slide on the ute.I have been contemplating a Hiace camper, but am a bit broke at the moment after buying the new outboard. Only time will tell. Installing the outboard tmrow. See ya soon Bill
