Hi all. It was raining when I left home thismorning, but no rain where Lulu live at Greenbank, so no problems loading and hooking up. The furtherwest I went, the more the rain eased, so happy with that. Once we got through to the western side of the range, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face.
We arrived here around 2pm and are sitting back in a very cool breeze, listening to the Corellas along the creek. On to Goondiwindi tomorrow. Someone recently wrote about a camp just out of Goondiwindi on the river. There's none in Camps 6. We have to spend a day in Goondi, so would like to be fairly close without using a CP.
Have a look at this brochure - link below We stayed at No.33 Lees Reserve it was very nice. There are a couple closer to Gundi but i don't know what they are like.

Sounds like your trip is going well, Beth. Enjoy each day as it comes, relax and enjoy the birds by the creek. Have a great sleep today and out there again tomorrow.
Searching for the free camp mentioned just out of Goondi, Beth. No luck yet. This is why some of us go on about putting the right info in the headings and popping the story in the right section, So Often. I do remember reading it but can't remember who wrote it or how long ago it was.
Thought I would post the free camping spots we found while in Goondiwindi. You drive down Kildonan Rd and the one we liked the best was Lees Reserve, there are about four of them and all are on the river. Also in Goondiwidi you can have free hot showers at The Water Park.
Thanks Chris and Peter, and Janette...that's the one!
Yes, Marj, it's really annoying. I couldn't remember anything about it, so I just put Goondiwindi in the search box, to no avail. I should have saved it when I saw it.
Good one Janette. I have spent more than an hour scrolling through the Free campsite section on here and all I got was a headache. lol Sorry couldn't be more help Beth, but if you stay there, can you detail it on here so I can put it in my book.
I found it on Oz Camps. I went over to Deb & Lee's van to tell them, and Lee started laughing...der..Lees Reserve. Then I told him that Google maps says to take the Old Warwick Road, and he started laughing again...my ex's name is Warwick! Gee I was slow, didn't even twig til he started laughing!
We plan to ask about the road in Yelarbon, to see if it's bitumen. Can't zoom in close enough on google satelite.
Lee has to get new tyres for the Patrol. His stupid mechanic said they'd be fine for another 20,000 kms, but our brother reckoned they needed replacing. Lee said he should have followed his gut instict, instead of listening to the mechanic. Never mind, we have plenty of time.
