Anyone at Green Lake yet?

Yes, yes, I know it's early but I'm thinking that I'll head there on Thursday.  Would love to know who to look out for - so if you're there please tell me whether there are lots of other vans there and how to recognise you.

There could be. I was there about this time last year. I know there are a few on their way, but might not arrive for a couple of weeks.
Mostly we park straight down in front of the public toilets to the right of the boat ramp.
But others could park anywhere as huge amount of space.

I might get there a couple of days after Melbourne Cup Day for who knows how long.

Make sure you look up 'Greens' lake with an s. Green lake is another place altogether. Greens lake is just out of Elmore in Victoria.

Not 100% sure yet.

Thats right John. Anywhere from October through to about Easter. After that it starts getting cold and they head north for the winter.

Some come and go depending on other committments eg visiting relatives or doctors appointments, or maybe repairs or grocery shopping.

Its a bit like bird migration really John.

Thanks for all your replies - I hope to meet lots more GNs there. I'll stay a week or two I think - though my plans are always in a permanent state of change. Gypsy Rover Greens Lake is in Camps 6, Victoria, map 63, #475. I like to park near the boat ramp - watching the boaties trying to launch their boats can be quite entertaining. For those of you who don't know me and my rig (and that's most of you) I drive a Jayco Conquest with a red motor scooter perched on the back.

Yes they are John. Have seen lots of dogs and a few cats. Ignore what it says in the camps book.

As long as they are under control and the poop picked up, nobody minds.

 Pets are allowed under control.

The listing in camps 6 is outdated, that sometimes happens.
