Greens Lake at last!

Peace at last. Enjoy!! You might hear a few frogs overnight but nothing else.

The bl**dy motorbikes just came whizzing by. furious I rang Elmore Police and left a message, so hopefully they'll come out tomorrow and shoo them away. The weekend is obviously not a good time to be here. ashamed

Yes, we're finally here. Pity it's the weekend. It was a bit hard to get spot not too close to others, and there are power boats zooming around. Nevertheless, we're here, and it was sunny and warmish until 2 minutes ago. disbelief The sun's gone behind a cloud.

We'll still be here tomorrow as we need to do some washing. The water looks nice and clean for pumping.

There's a lot of campers here, but haven't seen any fellow nomads yet.

While in Echuca, we had a cruise on a paddle boat, checked out all the little places in the port area, and managed to find a few Xmas presents. Also had a nice lunch at Wistaria Cottage. Although there was probably more to see, I'm happy with what we did see. We just didn't want to pay another night at the CP.

We found what I presume to be Marj's camping shops and had a lovely poke around. (There were 3 almost in a row Marj.) I bought another step...I drove off without it at some stagedisbelief...L&D bought a double slow burning gas stove for outside use. They had a single one, but wanted the double. And these shops were well priced too.

Nice to hear, Beth.
We had a nice hour or so with Pam who called in for coffee- but as we only have 2 coffee mugs I was forced to have a white wine!

So lovely here by the river, and no power boats!

Great to see you finally arrived at Greens. Forgot it being the weekend would be busier. Thats a shame. But wait till you see the sunsets and sunrise, that will make up for it.
Yes there are 3 camping shops in a row down the port. They sell everything.
Where did you end up parking?? At Greens.

To the right of the boat ramp. Not far along. Now the motorbikes have started. *groan*

I was watching the sunset and had to come inside. Getting mighty cold out there.

I've had Asthma the last few days...too much cold air going into my sensitive lungs. cry Last night I did a lot of coughing, so tonight I'll pull the roof down.

Oh really. The motorbikes have been banned !! You can ring the police at Elmore and get that attended to. There are signs everywhere showing they are banned.
What a shame as spoiling your experience of Greens, which really is a piece of paradise. Pity no peace for you tonight.

Bikes have gone. If they come back tomorrow, I will ring the police. The boats have gone to bed, young families are settling down. Nice and quiet now.

It truly is a beautiful place.

I haven't been up to the toilets, but bil said the mens was disgusting. It looked like someone had done their business in the sink, and there was mess everywhere on the floor too. There was a fair lot of teens around here yesterday, as well as the motorbikers. I hesitate to blame them, but it's the sort of thing some young ones do,,they think they're being funny.

After I'd been in bed for awhile, some teens came along the track and either walked into my van, or shook it on purpose, but it definitely shook.

But...it's a beautiful sunny warmish day today. A few boats about, and a couple of jetskis or skindoos.

Sorry, but I have to say, I know you all love Greens Lake, but it hasn't made a great impression on me. Maybe it's just that we've been out in the 'wilderness' for while and we're now in 'burbs' so to speak.

We're going on to Bendigo tomorrow, plan to stay at the Showgrounds for a couple of days, and meet some rellies.

Sorry you've had a bad experience at Greens lake Beth. It has to be because its a weekend, but in saying that there were grey nomads who stayed there for weeks at a time last summer and didn't want to leave. The winter came on and they had to follow the sun.

We would have preferred to go along a bit further, but it looked like it had been boggy and would do so again if it rained, so we stayed here.

Gee Beth, not a good welcome to Victoria at all. One good thing though, it can only get better. I will keep an eye out on here to see who if anyone will be at Greens after the Cup Weekend.

Just introduced myself to Beth - I'd been wondering where all the GNs had got to. The toilets were cleaned earlier today but the motorbikes are STILL buzzing around. I know there are signs everywhere and the police were here last night but it doesn't seem to deter them. I think they're local kids and they'd gone home by the time the police got here. But Beth is right - it is beautiful here and today has been stunning.
