I have been retired for a couple of years now and would like to do some extensive travelling in Australia, particularly the south, south-west, west and north-west. My friends are all still working and, as a single woman, I'm a touch wary of going it alone and would like to find one or more others who would be interested in making some plans with me. I don't have a suitable vehicle but am happy to consider any kind of plan regarding buying or borrowing one. I don't offer any particular expertise except that I can make the best of any situation and have an appreciative take on life in general. Diana
A woman in her 60's came into my shop a few years ago and told me she had been on the road on her own in her old camper for 20 years! I was impressed and every now and then I think of her with admiration
I have been pondering "hitting the road" for quite some time and would like some feedback from women already "doin it" or anyone that has met any women travelling alone ~ I would love to hear all about it. Pros and cons. TA! Altho it is pretty quiet in here, hope I'm not waiting too long for a reply or it may be too late!
Good to hear from you. 20 years alone on the road - words fail me really - you gotta give some respect there. You don't say where you are - I'm in Sydney - are you ineterested in making contact and talking about some travel?
Hi Diana.......... Good on you. My sister and I are leaving Melb on 2nd April, going round S.A. then on to w.a. perth for a couple of weeks then up to broome for a week or two but stoping approx every 400ks for the night. If you like you can tag along with us.
Hello Erin Thanks so much for your generous offer - made so casually too!! My post is about 15 months old and as you will have seen, I got little response at the time. I could still be interested but am on the verge of taking on a new dog so the timing is probably wrong for me - but I wish you and your sister happy travels and lots of adventures along the way. Cheers Diana
