We moved as a group from Forbes to Ariah Park Recreation Reserve Camps6 #965 and I am unaccustomed to driving in convoy, the others use the UHF and I never have and even though I had a borrowed hand held Uniden it was not turned on. Consequently I missed the discussion about booking in at Ariah and no doubt many others too. I find UHF noisy and distracting and my installed unit will receive but it will not transmit so it is never used. I recommended Ariah Park because over the past year many campers had told me it was a good camp site and we were not disappointed. The site is big enough for the largest rig and is adjacent to the local football ground. Good amenities with running water, hot showers, flushing toilets and camp kitchen. It is in walking distance of the town and has good internet and phone coverage. The fees are reasonable $10 for a powered site and no charge for self contained rigs not requiring power.
We arrived as their music festival is being held at the show grounds and tonight at the camp kitchen there is a sing a long and tomorrow a walk in. It is surprising the number of times I have been at a location when a festival was occurring, the motor show at Bluewater park and the river festival at Dawson River come to mind.
While in the area you should try the beautiful old pub at Mirool, back out on the Newell. Great meals, Lovely young couple run it. His mother lives in Echuca, recommended I try so had lunch there on the way up north earlier in the year. Even for the look of the pub with the huge silos beside it is worth a look. There is also free camping beside the pub.
Thats true Jules, think it happens at a particular time of the year. They told me about it when I had lunch there. Will probably do an overnight stay there on the way down.

Yesterday worked on the TV antenna for ages after receiving the NO SIGNAL message fortunately Rod had a meter which could guage the voltage passing through the antenna from the booster box. After exhaustive checks we eliminated all except one connection which after being replaced fixed the problem. Not that I wanted to watch TV but needed to fix the problem. In the afternoon I decided to move my electric 12 volt fan, it was behind the driver's seat and next to the curtain. I constantly banged my head on it and never used it either so it had to be moved and it is now located between the two front seats and can be used in either direction. Easier said than done it was held in place by 4 pop rivets which had to be drilled out and the control had also to be moved. I was able to get the units off from their anchor and drill new holes to suit the aluminium rivets that I had from relocating the solar panels up to the roof. Rod has a you beaut rivet gun better than mine so I used it to start with but soon found that my smaller one was easier to hold in one hand so after starting off the pressure with two hands then swopped over to mine to use with one. All go again and after shower was ready for another happy hour and that is how Thursday was spent.
Friday and decided to use the cutting compound to remove surface rust as is necessary every couple of months. That took up the morning followed by a walk up to the town to the local Opp Shop looking for long johns in anticipation of a cold Tassie trip. No joy looking for long johns. A quiet afternoon was in order before getting ready to go out for a meal at the local Bowls Club, some may remember the last time I got dressed up to go out whilst traveling it was not a satisfactory experience as is recorded in the blog:- http://yeoeleven.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/visitor-to-mission-beach.html This time I was well prepared for such an eventuality having been moving around a hanging suit bag constantly several times a day so that I could look smart when going out. Was the effort worth it? You be the judge. So the five of us set off and had a good meal at the Bowls Club John
