The RMS has announced that there are new road rules being introduced in NSW on 1st of November 2012. Some are in response to the agreed national road rules and some are NSW only. You can find them at:

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/usingroads/downloads/nsw_road_rules_2012.pdf

The complete NSW road rules can be found at:

Hi Peter,
The links can't 'be found'. Can you post what the changes are, please?
Thanks
Patto

I tried before as well. Couldn't get anything.
Would love to know the NSW changes as heading down there next week.

Strange, I checked the links earlier and they worked. They are identical with John/rockylizard's links when I copy and paste them into a WP document. Suggest you ignore mine and use his. They will take you to the documents I intended.

G'day Peter,

There's a "rogue" space at the end of link. If you copy and paste it into the address bar you'll see it. When this space is deleted it works ok. You may be able to edit it and repaste the link without the space, it'll work ok then.

Hhahaha... yes, trouble is that common sense isn't all that common sometimes. Like the bloke this morning who was turning right at a roundabout, approaching in the RH lane. I was in the left lane about to turn left, then just as he reached the roundabout he cut across into the left lane right in front of me, then proceeded to turn right on the roundabout, from the left lane. I almost got while paint on my bullbar.....

Some can't be taught & others will never learn, thats why we have to drive for them as well.

Common Sense and the Law are often mutually exclusive.

I think one of the most interesting ones is the "minimum distance behind long vehicle" - how many times do you see truckers travelling in convoy, nose to tail, with no room to get in between if you pass them - truckers have been known to complain about us travellers driving too close together, but they are pretty guilty of it also.

The rest are common sense as JC says.

Thanks PeterD for bringing it to the attention of our members I have not seen any other publicity for the changes in the media.
