Back to Tassie

My current trip ends tomorrow, after 42 days on the road.  The travels took me from Brisbane down through the Great Dividing Range and it was terrific!  Some great camps, met some great people and saw some of this terrific country.  It is a great way to travel and see the country, meet people and touch base with family in the travels (son & his family in Queensland).   I left Tasmania last February and had three months in the Northern Territory as well (they didn't quite so much let me go from grandparent duties,  more like I just left).

Life on the road as a solo was initially daunting but I have had no problems whatsoever - well, a few times I got stuck but others were quick to help me get out again, which is very comforting:  It works both ways, as the young family I met at Karumba were able to continue traveling after I installed an isolating solenoid for them.  A small concern at one camp where the chap next to me started chanting & raving on a bit actually; during the night he left unbeknownst by me or I'd have slept a bit more soundly!

I have to give a hearty Well Done to those who provide free camps, National Park personnel and caravan park operators - I know there is often controversy but the fact remains that without a mixture of all, I would not be able to travel as extensively.  I suspect this applies to many people as there are certainly many on extensive travels.

A hearty Well Done to Forum Administrators as well, they provide an excellent means for communication while traveling, as well as encouraging others to head out the drive and turn either right or left.

To all of those traveling - Happy and Safe Travels!  To those thinking about it, Maintain the Dream!

I love the shade anex on your avatar pic. Simple and functional. Gave my an idea to get one like this for my car, too.

 Have a great time Anton!
