This may affect many Grey Nomads - paticularly those on pensions.
The very generous Government Dental scheme, the Chronic Desiases Dental Scheme (CDDS) finishes at the end of this month. This newspaper article from the Brisbane Courier Mail, outlines the scheme that will replace it. As I type this management is having a root canal done under the CDDS, I had my teeth cleaned under it last week.
I heard about this new scheme on ABC radio last year. It was stated then to be $1000 over a year, now it's over two years. How far's that going to go in the private sector?
I badly need some work done, but the Qld Dental Hospital system is a joke! (I can't speak for other states.)
I was going to QE2 Hospital for several years. One had to be there there at 6am to get in the queue, and tell them you were in pain, even if you weren't, or you wouldn't been seen. But it was a quiet place, with friendly people, staff and customers included. Then they woke up to the fact that I should have been going to Logan Hospital and said I couldn't go there anymore. As any Brisbanite will know, Logan Hospital doesn't have a very good rep, so I still haven't been. (I'd been there many years ago.)
But I can't put it off for much longer. I wonder if I can sneak into Redlands Hospital...

$2.7 billion for 3.4 million children, $1.3 billion for adults ,,,what a joke , all the Flouride they put in to the water, and the sh....t is not working,
I have my name down at the Echuca Hospital and get work done every two years. Once that work is done I have to wait 1 year, put my name down again and will be called back in about a year. Hence being seen every two years and that includes a partial plate which has been replaced at least 3 times.
