All packed up and ready to go, amazingly the shower tent came down perfectly the first time and the annex followed it this morning. All the stuff used ove the past weeks has now been put away. Have washed the van to avoid any quaranteen hassles entering Tassie, eaten and given away any surplus of fresh fruit and vegetables. Organised the gas bottles to have stoppers so I am ready to go. The past few days have been very hot here so swimming in the lake has taken over from the shower tent and the Coleman Hot Water on Demand unit has been put away next to the generator. The extra fuel container has been emptied into the genny then the balance into the van and the cap left off to dry out th interior.
Been here for 5.5 weeks and ready to move on. It has been good here with the fellowship of other Grey Nomads and the opportunity to save $1300 but I am looking forward to the next part of my life sailing for Tasmania and linking up with Billeeee & Jules again.
My plan of getting a coaster is still on track, I will be on the lookout whilst in Tassie but not really seriously it would be too hard to buy one in Tassie and sell mine over there. Bringing an extra vehicle back to the mainland presents many hassles. The rust has been removed from the Hi Ace it looks much better, taking the urgency out of the equation. It would pass a roadworthy now making it a better selling probability.
Was taken out for another ride a couple of days ago and went to Rochester for some shopping then on the Echuca again. Took a photo of the thong tree and Marj had the idea of creating one here at Greens so we now have one but whether it takes off is another matter. The full moon gave us the opportunity of a photo showing a staircase to the moon similar to the one mentioned in Broome, several of the others have expensive cameras and telescopic stands so their photos would have turned out much better than mine but I will post one anyway. The red gum trunk is amazing as are the wheels carrying it. John

See you in two days John - and yes there are a lot of free camps over here - we have stayed in heaps - some right on beautiful beaches, at the moment in Cambell Town - at the edge of town (walking distance) - no facilities, but they are just in the middle of town. Can't get water here - something wrong and it is not drinkable - even the locals are getting water from tanks that has shipped in water.
