Cradle Mountain was a day stop we left there and went on to free camp at Mackintosh Dam Camps6 #180. This is a large area with plenty of room for big rigs but no facilities and a maximum stay of 7 days. The actual camping area is rough and unmade but the surrounds are beautiful with trees all round and dam views of Tullabardine Dam. Driving over the dam wall gives an indication as to how deep it is, there is a huge drop down to the valley to the left driving in and no access if the spillway is flowing so if you are in there when storms are depositing lots of water it would be best to get out instead of possibly getting stranded. We are catching up with washing and mundane stuff getting refreshed and ready for the next adventures. I have no internet access with Amaysim using the Optus network but Billeee & Julie have it via Telstra, I called into Telstra in Burnie enquiring about using a Telstra sim card in my smart phone for when I had no signal but was offered 400mb for $30 per month for the convenience. I have 2.5gb for $19.50 per month so will have to put up with the inconvenience. I would like to update the forum & blog daily but not at the expense of being shafted by Telstra. John
