And the same to you. Maybe we will all meet somewhere in the great outdoors in 2013.

I'd love to get together with bowlerbear, dougwe and everyone else in 2013. I'm heading for north Qld - determined to snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef in 2013 - by a yet to be determined, non-direct route. Where is everyone else headed?

I'm heading north sometime in March on way to Townsville and will be up around that area for at least a couple of months I would say. I want to be in Townsville by mid April. I intend going up the middle and back the coast, that can all change at any time.

Merry Christmas to you too Lynda. Hopefully we'll meet again next year in Qld. And don't foget the free camp at Tin Can Bay. wink

I also hope to meet Doug and whoever else is heading through SEQ next year.

I have a tentative plan to meet up with friends in the Northern Rivers area of NSW in the Autumn, and to western Qld after that. Or visa versa!

Hi there and Happy New Year to all, nice to hear some of us are travelling north in Jan, I'm heading off towards the end of the month as I'm not quite ready to hit the road....still making preperations and modifications to my camper and preparing to move out of here and store what furniture and personal belongings I have left....

Its been a long time dream of mine to become a nomad and travel this wonderful country of ours, I'm both excited and kinda scared to be entering this new chapter of my life, I guess we always think we are well prepared until we find we are not lol......

My van has a small fridge but I'm starting to think I'll probably need a back up so I've been looking at portable camp fridges repco have ( Gearup)  brand on sale this week 55lt for $500......anyone familiar with this style/ brand? . Someone also suggested I buy a CB radio, I saw one in the Wanderer mag.....it was portable and also on sale its a Vertex VX-426 for $345, I'd most appreciate any info or suggestions my fellow nomads would care to give me....tar.

Have a great day...cheers

In regards to the radio, I would get one installed not portable, I have 2 portables and have probs with range and batteries all the time, if you don't charge them regulary, your stuffed and if you leave them on charge while you used them you end up stuffing the batteries anyway, can't win, my next one is going to installed, good luck, see you on the road.

Jillybeans,

Happy new Year to you, don't take too long getting on the road, time runs away from us at an alarming rate.

Buck.
