Lost my blocks

At least you haven't left the most important one behind John. [ Block, that is.]

Cheers,

Sheba.

Whilst in Charters Towers I bought a thick timber offcut and had it cut into 4 pieces to use as levelling blocks.

In Bendemeer in company with Anton (Loki) it rained and 2 blocks sunk down level with the ground and I set off without the customery bump and forgot about them.

Must have been thinking about something else in Stanley because I left the other 2 there, I had just said goodby to Julia and Hannah and had a big cuddle from each so I floated off and again forgot the blocks.

Only just realized that they were missing whilst packing up the van to leave the farm tomorrow, luckily Bob had a couple of wooden graduated blocks that were surplus since he had bought some plastic ones recently and now I have some more.

Leaving stuff behind is a worry because I have left floor mats behind several times, once I had reversed back several times to stay in the sun when a camper told me he had just found 2 floor mats not sure he believed my story but I got the mats back.

So I am off tomorrow and resuming my travelling lifestyle and meeting up with Patty for a few days camping before the Peacefest on the 22nd. Hopefully we will meet up with Billeee and Jules in the next couple of days.

John

Maybe thats why the bought ones are made in orange John. Even if you see them in the mirror as you drive off, you can run back for them.

Yes that was the one I mentioned in the first post, at least he did tell us that he had found them.  I would have driven off without them as I have done several times the last time was leaving Gordon Tas.            John

I used to have an aluminium plate 5 by 5 inches under the site stand of my Gold-Wing to prevent it digging into the bitumen we had a piece of string on it that when't on to
the Handlebars in case you forgot it to pick up
John maybe a piece of yellow or Orange string on the blocks is the way to go

a simple solution for the problem I hope it will help you John

I always pull away from my site and then get out and walk around. it is not only the blocks or mats you can lose but also anything that may have fallen out of the doors etc an rolled under your bus.

Often you are so used to the step I often see that left. If you move it ain't there anymore it will be back where you were LOL

I move till the area I occupied is free and then just take two seconds to walk back and I also do a double check by walking back on side and then return the other side just in case.

Regards
Brian

Ah yes, Bendemeer - it was rather damp at that point. A very nice town tho.

Ah, Bendemeer. I was there as a kid in 1961 camped by the McDonald River... did a little panning for gold and got a bit in a matchbox. Nearby campers gave me my first taste of kangaroo tail soup.
