Penguin Lions Park Tas.

If you enlarge the Pic., you can see it's a Volkswagon jetj.

[ Hold down the Ctrl key, and hit the + key.  To minimise Pic., hold down Ctrl, and then hit - key.]

Cheers,

Sheba.

Have left the farm after a good couple of weeks and met up with Patty in Somerset.

We decided to go to Penguin Lions Park (Camps6 #233) it has toilets and the last time in Penguin I stopped at Preservation Bay without.

This is a nice spot but the railway has a line nearby and I am told that train goes by at around 3.00am. Some grass parking but mostly on the tarmac at the end of a cul de sac, good water, flushing toilets, barbeque and covered picnic table area.

The coaster behind us has an unusual name if you can read it enlarged I have now seen it and it's owner Keith at Strahan and Tahune, he has an interesting story about how the name came about.

Did a little 12 volt electrical work on Pattys van allowing her to have a double socket so when she buys a 12 volt TV she can connect it and her antenna to the sockets.

Our plan is to go to Sheffield tomorrow to meet up with Billeee and Jules now that their trip south has finished. Good to be on the road again.   John

Thanks Sheba,

I didn't think of doing that, silly me. I thought it looked like one but wasn't sure. Thanks again.

We loved this camp spot. Yep the train rolls through in the early hours and also during the day too. Was a bit quieter parked along the tree line. Great dog walking beach and easy walk to the pub and bakery. 48 hours max stay. Dump point for those in need at end of town.

Couldn't miss the train coming through at 3.35AM it's lights illuminated the camp and it had to signal it's coming for the centre of Penguin is a huge crossing.

Small inconvenience whilst staying over in this lovely place.   John

Yes I made use of both the Penguin Lions Park camp and the surf club camp in 2011-2012, great spots both, and I really liked Penguin, nice town and lovely beaches. Tassie is calling me for next summer I think....
