Just loving it here at Gowie, the sun has been its best, have great company here with John, Julie & Billy. Julie cooked one of her cobb meals, yummmmy meal. John & I went for a walk this morning, poor John fell, he is very sore, going to rest up tomorrow. Yesterday i saw friends before they left on the boat for WA.
I agree Patty - this is a lovely spot - and watching the sun go down over the mountains is wonderful. Glad you enjoyed dinner. And I hope John is feeling better this morning,.

Makes it hard for us plain old boring people to see you having such a good time and enjoying each others company, but then that's what life is for as we don't get a chance after we cark it do we.
Pity more people don't experience what you three are obviously doing, so stick to it , you are all an example for what we should all strive to gain.
I hope you all continue for many years and keep us all entertained as we plod along on our travels.
Regards Brian

Gday...
The GN Forum has almost 5,000 members with around 2,000 viewing in the past 24 hours - so the stats on the 'home page' suggest.
I have no idea how many of the 5,000 are 'retired travellers' or how many of those 'retired travellers' are actually travelling, but I would suggest it would be the majority.
Of those that are travelling, either part-time, full-time or occasionally, very few put their every move on the forum. However, those that do, make it an interesting and often informative forum.
That notwithstanding, I am constantly bemused by the accolades heaped upon the few who do share their travels.
I would just like to say 'well done' to ALL those who are out in the playground whether you post your every move on the forum or not.
Cheers - John

Patty, what have they done to you. You can't have been all that bad to deserve that treatment. John, so sorry to see you have broken ribs, take it easy and rest as much as possible.

Hi John - we don't post to get accolades - just to share our good times with like minded people - we, for instance, know there are thousands of fellow fulltime travellers out there - met a heap of them down here -
Our posts are to share our happiness with our "friends" on site - and if they inspire others - well and good.
And fully agree - Well Done - to all those out there doing their thing.
If someone doesn't want to read our posts, well that is their business.

Gday...
... OOPS ... apologies for misunderstanding. I wasn't intimating those who post their movements are doing so for "accolades" - rather that some comments others make, make it seem that only those who post their movements that are "out there doing it".
I do believe, as I said, those that do [post their journey], make it an interesting and often informative forum.
Keep posting - there are many who gain enjoyment, information, motivation and maybe even envy reading the postings of other travellers.
Cheers - John

Thanks, John, (Rockylizard) - I understand what you are saying.
We wish lots of others who are out there, would share their travels and amusing anecdotes, photos, for instance there a quite a few down here in Tassy, we believe, but have only had contact with one of them -
As you say all of the above makes for interesting reading, and makes the forum what it is, a good friendly place to come and meet good friends!!

Many of us (I know for me) are having a ball doing what many of us have dreamed all our lives we would do SOMETIME.
I have been on the road full time since Oct 2008 but the furtherest west I got was Kimba and then the fires hit Victoria and I came back to help.
Got bloody hooked on volunteering so now I travel around doing this and that, but still having a ball but I feel I now have a purpose to go here or there.
I am a fairly reserved, private, call it what you like and so I dont even tell my family where I am or going and I could not bore people with what I do as it is very tame compared to the stories we read on here.
Plus I have worked in computers for many years and they are a tool to me so I get on and have my look around and then turn it off normally for the day and sometimes two or three or more.
I think many of us are the same but still enjoy the antics of Billee and his little travelling group, when they are together or apart.
John is an inspiration to many of us as we hobble around and struggle to make ourselves mobile and there the old bugger is picking up all the girls etc. Just wish I knew what he ate or drank or smoked (no don't worry about that John as I don't smoke so no help there)
Same as the people like Beth etc that come on and have their joke and flirt or what ever, it makes the day and gives an interaction that many of us solos need to start our day with a zing and help us to join in the world and discover the things we sought for so long and are out there beckoning us to seek forth.
Keep up the good work every one as you only get one chance and this is it.
Regards Brian
