Last days in Tasmania

Left Stanley Thursday morning with a view to travelling to Penguin Lions Reserve once again. I called into the Vinnies Boutique in Wynyard and bought a pair of black shoes to go with my good pair of trousers and shirt for dressing up, I have a date for Saturday afternoon.

Ended up at Penguin Lions Reserve early afternoon and set up the shower tent and had a much needed shower, Denise arrived shortly after and to our surprise so did Billeee and Jules. Jules was very helpful in seeking out the Ranger and getting approval for Denise to put up her tent, how considerate was that. Had an interesting time with Denise and Jules visiting OPP shops and cant believe that Denise haggled $2 down to $1, I left her to it in amazement unable to contain my laughter.

Friday and I did the washing thing so that I could close the cupboard containing my washing. Beautiful weather for clothes drying and I had put a line from the rubbish bin holder to my antenna mast. I have been learning new things and have had pasties for breakfast two days in a row, bought Marsala and been drinking it for two nights. Obviously am experiencing new options and enjoying them immensely. Billeee and Jules left for places unknown with an agreement to meet up on Saturday afternoon.

Today Saturday and we are going to Coles Beach Devonport to use the hot showers, then on to Camps6 #216 East Devonport Recreational Centre. We need to find ice for tomorrow morning before departure for Denises fridge and a place to eat in the afternoon. The instructions in Camps state that a permit to camp has to be obtained from the Information Centre at a cost of $10 per vehicle.

So the question is (1) did Denise erect her tent.  (2) will we pay to get the approval for camping.

So I will end my 3 month stay in Tasmania on a high after having had some of the best times in my travelling life. I have now fully paid for the Coaster from my frugal but exciting time in Tassie and have even more exciting times ahead. I am off to Frankston and the Coaster whilst Denise will be setting off back to her home in Queensland.      John

Well John,I will miss your photos from Tassie and have thoroughly enjoyed an armchair trip around the Apple Isle with your posts.

Gives me lots of places to visit if SWMBO gets her way to visit.

Now waiting to see where your first "Coaster"  takes you on it's shakedown trip.

I am sure I am not the only one who has enjoyed your posts from Tassie.

Thanks

Trevor

Hey John,

I've enjoyed every minute of your write ups and photos of your adventure in the Hiace. I'm looking forward to the next chapter and hearing about the Coaster and your adventures in your new home. I think a few of us might be trying to gauge whether a Coaster is the way to go from your experience and posts.

Thanks for your contribution to the forum, helps make it as great as it is.

Hi John, been following your posts and for some of that time while we were is Tassie as well. Glad you have enjoyed yourself. Tassie is a wonderful place to visit its a pit they cannot seem to do something about the cost of getting there and return and what a small world it is, here we are are sitting on the boat waiting for it to get under way who walks past, the man himself.

Have a great time John, will talk later !!!!!

One door closes...  Tassie is a great spot but you also have the knack for enjoying anywhere you find yourself.  Now you start off again in a new van to continue to enjoy the best of places you visit.  Look forward to catching up again along the track.
