A good free camp stop at Huntley -Epsom Lions Parkn Northern Highway about 11ks north of Bendigo Victoria.Water/Toilets /BBQ/ picnic tables /weather shelters /night lighting/ ...no sullage collection points.shop 600meters north and 5k south.Park is meters south of Huntley shops and post office and 4.9 k from new shopping complex and fuel outlet at Epsom. The park is notconspicous from the road Midland Highway park enterance is indicated by Blue and White picnic site signs, some 300meters distant. For northbound travellers watch for the Elmore 35k sign,We have stayed here many times during our travelling and like it.Nice big shade trees also.
I know the spot you are talking about Herbie. Have stopped in there many times to use the loo but never stayed over night. Last time I went past I noticed they had brand new quite flash looking loos.
The bbq does not work, there are taps there for water in the camp area, but you need one of those special 'tap adaptors'!
The pub just down the road has great cheap meals, but not on a Monday night! Lately, there has been a Pizza van there most weekends from 5.30pm to around 8pm.
A local chap comes around to sell honey in one kilo tubs as well... and it's great honey!
This is a quite small, but very user friendly little spot to camp overnight.
