Off to Kyabram

Set off yesterday Tuesday and made good time to Kyabram to visit Patty halfpint who is currently house sitting for 3 months.

Plenty to talk about no time for TV, we had very nice filling home made soup with desert to follow. Am getting spoilt because Chris and Paula shouted me a farewell meal at the local tavern Monday night.

Today we went to Tatura to have Patty's van worked on whilst we went to the local park to walk the dog and have lunch. All good with a quiet day tomorrow and off again Friday, the plan is to get to Hay and camp there for a week or so until the next pension. Hopefull Camps6 #524 Sandy Point Reserve is a good place to camp and walking distance to Hay.

Many happy years of travelling John,i recon  you concured all that was before you in a possitive can do attitude, with the help of friends. So enjoy all your hard work and most of all the way you had to go about every problem you came up against ,fixing problems as your money allowed. You are a true blue Australian .With the attitude never give up.

kyabram is located in the irrigation district in the Goulburn River  Valley. bout 200ks North of Melbourne ,situated between Echuca and Shepparton,cole to the maurray River. The name derives from Aboriginal word Kiambram meaning "Thick Forest''.

What does 'Brambuk' mean?

There are two meanings:

1. Bram is an abbreviation of the legendary heroes, the Bram-bram-bult brothers, known throughout the area; Buk means 'belonging to'.

2. Brambuk is the Koorie word for white ****atoo, the totem of this area.
