Welcome to the forum from us garnet in case we haven't welcomed you before. If you get to meet some Grey Nomads out there you won't be lonely for long! Enjoy your travel.

Just had to look up the location of Ardlethan, so many places and so little time. Sounds like an economical trip to Tasmania, what time of the year did you go, the 7 weeks when it got above freezing?
Looks like a good sized rig for a solo traveller.

Welcome to the forum!  Yes, it gets lonely on the road but you also get to meet many very nice people (and, sadly, then travel on), plus when home on my own I get lonely at times.  Recent advances in technology have certainly benefited traveling in a small campervan.  My camera fits on my belt, yet is more powerful than my old Nikkormat SLR with three lenses and a bag full of goodies. Computers allow you to carry a whole library of books, music and movies, as well as communicate with the world, store & process photos, play games etc. and the small DVD players are also great for entertainment and educational DVD's.  AGM batteries and solar panels allow me to freecamp indefinitely (as long as there is enough sun) and LED lights use very little power, last a long time and are quite bright.   My radio takes USB drives so I can load MP3 music or audiobooks to listen to when traveling as well as sitting out the many recent rainy days here in WA.  There is so much exciting country to see; if it doesn't come to you then you have to go to it!  You don't have to have fun doing it, but I sure do!

G'day Garnet and welcome. I agree with everything Loki wrote... way too much to do to ever get lonely, and lots of other travellers on the road if you ever need a chat. My rig is similar to yours, plenty of room for a solo.

Welcome from me too Garnet. I'm a part time nomad, mainly because that suits me. I can get lonely whether at home or out roaming, and I'm a people person at heart, so always open for a chat.

My rig also suits my purposes. I can park up the van, then go off around town etc in my economical i30.

Happy travels.

welcome garnet!
I am becalmed in Melbourne suburbs for a few months right now, saving some more of those pesky $$ to get back out on the road where I feel like the real me! I can tell you that being surrounded people who just don't 'get' what I do or how I live is what makes me feel lonely!

there are a lot of really nice folk here so you won't be lonely for long! I always come here for a read if I have a spot of the blues, I soon shake them off!
