Wednesday and huge delays on the road taking me over 2 hours to travel the 110kms between Calliope and Rockhampton. Not so sure about using the Rewards Card with Woolworths took me ages to find the Caltex dealer who takes the card and probably used up more petrol than I saved in discount. Being a traveller and often in a town that hasnt got a Woolworths shop I am considering not bothering with the card, I got it whilst in Frankston living in walking distance of a Woolworths supermarket.

Eventually caught up with my shopping needs and contacted Sheba (Gayle) who found me in the strange town and I followed her back to her place once again, I visited her last year. Unfortunately she has had rain water leaking through the roof and it is covered with tarpaulins, the insurance man is coming on Monday hopefully she will be able to get it fixed up at no cost to herself. Plenty to talk about but no internet even with Telstra but I was more interested in the State of Origin game than accessing the internet. So here I am typing this on a word page back in my bus for transfer hopefully tomorrow.

Thursday morning and was able to use the stepladder and check out the fixing of the solar panels, all good very firm and solid so there are no problems there. The panels have worked a treat, the house side has only the fridge wired to the deep cycle batteries so the 200 watts easily copes with that and the occasional lap top recharge. The driving side has the interior lights only wired in plus I use that side for the TV when I turn it on, driving plus the 120 watt panels easily keep up with that load especially when I have the second battery always charged up and isolated ready if the main battery was overused.

Will see how the day turns out, Gayle has invited me to visit her friends who have a Transit van and a 5th Wheeler so we should have lots to talk about there. My thought is to move on tomorrow up to St Lawrence for a few days at least until next Tuesday (pay day) the facilities there are excellent with $2 hot showers, water, washing sinks and clothes lines. Glad all the 12v side of things is working well for you John, makes things a bit easier. I agree that St Lawrence is a good spot indeed, I was there about a month ago but only for the one night, it was very busy indeed while I was there.

Sorry to hear Sheba is offline and with a leaky roof, hope its all fixed soon Sheba and you are dry and back in touch with us.

Ditto, yoeleven - good to know how you're going and how things are working out. I was especially interested to know how the solar panels are coping with running the fridge. I also hope Sheba gets her probs sorted out soon and without too much hassle.

 Yes Patty I was at Bowenville talking to travellers, as you do, when Kyabram came up in the conversation. I said that I had spent a few days there with a lady friend who was house sitting and as the conversation progressed it appeared that the house was owned by their best friend and he texted him immediately with the news.

As you say it is a small world when by chance if we had any secrets they would have been uncoveredcry.   crybecause we had no secretssmile John

Glad your solar panel is working out. Now to get one attached on Myrtle for the same purpose, mainly the fridge.
Will ask around Echuca and Bendigo, maybe also Shepp to see what sort of deal I can get.

Easiest way to find a Woolies servo is to look it up [here|http://woolworths.com.au/wps/wcm/connect/website/tools/store+locator].Where it says 'Select store type' use the drop down box to select 'Petrol'. Pick out a servo that looks reasonably located to where you're going then put the address in your GPS. What did I do before technology?

 Wow how easy is that, thanks the link is now in my favourites on the laptop and soon to be on my phone. The nearest to St Lawrence is Sarina 107kms away.   John

Gday...

Yep, that's a good site for finding Woolies/Caltex servos .. but be aware it is not kept up-to-date.

There are more in reality than shown on the site. eg there are now two Woolies/Caltex servos in Emerald QLD (Hospital Road Western end, and new shopping complex eastern end) but only the 'original' one on the western end of town is shown.

There are quite a few towns with a Woolies store shown (select supermarket) and no servo listed when in reality there is one in the town. I guess Woolies don't keep the site up-to-date.

That notwithstanding, a good site ... I often just use it to find Woolies supermarkets and when I get there I ask the service desk if a servo is in town.

There is a fuel station at Camilla which usually has cheaper fuel. Diesel was $1.46 a few days ago but as we all know that can change in a blink of an eye.

That Servo at Camilla Qld is the best one going around Good Food good managment wish I'd owned it.....Hope they never mess with it
