WA - Goldwire to Cape Keraudren

Have had 4 nights at Goldwire camp - another one with new toilets and dump point. Maybe 30 caravans in there sunday night. Staying at Sandfire tonight then a group of us are going to Cape Keraudren- I hear oysters and crayfish in abundance. Depending on the sandflies I will stay a few days then off to De Greys then either Karratha or Newman - probably karratha but I hear the road was washed out so might be messy road works there after all the rain. Am so enjoying these WA camps - should have done more on the first trip!

Keep travelling safe Spida. Sounds like you are having a ball and investigating interesting country.

maybe next week then - sounds as though you will be there a few days. Good road in or rough dirty?

I'm jealous too. But I can't be everywhere, although I'm giving it my best shot.
Mackay is ok but the weather is weird for this time of the year. It's the dry season but it's a bit humid, a bit of rain in the morning and today it blew like a bugger. The sun is warm but the breeze is chilly. Great for sleeping, and working is pretty cool too.

Just left Cape Keraudren
Didn't see any crayfish but yes plenty of oysters/mossies and sandflies
Walk out to the reef closest to land at low tide and look along the sea ward side for oysters
take a chisel and hammer with you

god luck
