HI vanman...think you have been reading my mind...lol Am doing exactly the same thing as you but have decided in the Coaster option after seeing a Hino M/H. The Hino was what Sue and I wanted in layout but too big for her to drive. Remember you need a Light Rigid License to drive anything over 4.5 tonne and the Hino far exceeds this. Even the Coaster can go over depending on layout and water tanks. If you go the Coaster way it must be from 1993 onwards as they have the 6 cylinder diesel and turbo. The long wheel base gives you an extra 2 feet over the standard and get the high roof (6ft. compared to 5.6ft high) We intend pulling a dual axel trailer (the Coaster pulls 2 tonne braked) with extra water tanks, geni. and a step through motor cycle. Hope this helps,
Peter
PS. Buying the Coaster as a bus and doing it up myself with mates help (he deciding on the Hino or Coaster too). Have a good site for Coaster DIY if you going that way. I have a heavy license so weight no problems but Sue needs to drive in an emergency.

No, I'm not busy, I did it right the first time.
Self-powered wheelie walker, soon a power chair (ex. Nomad)
I am toying with the idea of selling my caravan and tow vehicle and getting into a motor home. Why, because I won't have to hitch/unhitch just drive away. I am not to worried about towing a small car or having a scooter on the rear.
I have been looking at Hino Rainbow's and Toyota Coasters. My thoughts at this stage are this. The Hino has it's engine at the rear and maybe quieter inside when driving.
Having been used to travelling with a inbuilt washing machine there doesn't seem to be many MH's that have these unless you get a large one. I also have a 2 door 185lt. Dometic fridge which is excellent.
I suppose a box on the back would house a washing machine.
Has anyone on the forum been down this path and what was the outcome? I perhaps should add that I only have a car licence.
The rear engine option also has another benefit (Heat) My MH has a front engine and despite lots of insulation driving in summer is better with all the windows open to cool things down.
Some of the small twin tubs or the Lemair RV washers are quite small and would take up little room in a coaster /Hino sized vehicle.
I house my Lemair in the shower recess and that works well for me.
Hope you get sorted out and find something that ticks all your boxes.

Hi,
If you removed the washing machine from the equation, considered that you could get a light/heavy rigid truck licence(I am a truck driver by occupation, holding a B double licence and am no smarter, posesses nothing more that the person next to me, so if I can.....u can).
If you can accept this.........then you can do whatever you like. Remove all barriers.
