Big Lap nearly done.

In Kununurra at present, then to Lake Argyle for the weekend.  After that, it is east to Katherine where I virtually finish my Big Lap - I continue on to Brisbane but having covered the NT last year it will be retracing old tracks.  It has been a fascinating trip, some great places & people and so much to see - while I've seen a lot there is still so much I haven't seen!  

Today I took a scenic flight over the Kimberleys, quite spectacular in places, so barren & dry in others:  The pilot mentioned that the Kimberley's are about the size of Germany so some diversity is to be expected.  The cliffs, gorges and waterfalls are quite a sight to see.  Tomorrow - Lake Argyle!

OOh, I wanna be there.
There's no such thing as retracing old tracks. You will always find something different each time you pass through a region, whether you stop to smell or travel through. It's always different.
I've crossed the country at 100 KPH, 90 KPH, 80 KPH and the Nullabor at 60 KPH.
It's amazing how different the country looks when you do it slowly. Keep it safe and enjoy.

Well done Loki. I was pleasantly surprised when going over 'old ground' that seeing it again was still a pleasure. Maybe it has to do with a different perspective on life.smile  First time this was to be a one-off trip and not a way of life.biggrin Now as I drive along I am thinking 'camping spot maybe' rather than 'where is the next caravan park'.

I am sure you will enjoy the family time, and maybe I will see you in Tas in the years to come.wink I will be with brother in Yanchep for a couple of months.

Enjoy Lake Argyle Anton.  The sheer size of it is mind boggling.  The Kimberley is one of my favourite places in the country.  As you say, no end of spectacular scenery.  I am leaving Perth on Monday and heading home at last.
