Innisfail Fred Drew Park

Went to Paronella Park again and did the walk and had a hot shower I did a reporting job last time

http://yeoeleven.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/paronella-park.html

then drove to Innisfail had a Macca's lunch, the first time in ages and went on to Fred Drew Park Camps6 #18. On the highway this is a good overnight stop with water and the usual amenities. Plenty of grassy areas and as can be seen I put up the awning and have a mini camping set up in place.

Not surprising that there are a couple campers here who I talked to previously over the past few days or so making for easy conversation. This laptop is making funny noises as the typing is done and it needs the headphones on when watching my TV series and movies from the hard drive so I have bought an ultrabook from DH Gate a China Wholesaler from whom I have previously bought electronic goods and have an account.

The main advantage of the ultrabook is that it incorporates a powerful battery which will go for 5 hours between top ups. It is 13.3 inch and very slim and is designed to operate very efficiently hence the small battery usage.

I have used the Babinda Post Office as my address so looks like I will be around Babinda and The Boulders for a week or so. John

Hi,  Heading up that way for my first ever trip.  What are diesel prices like?

Maybe getting a bit humid up there as well?

Also are little dogs welcome?

Stay safe

Helen

 Hi Helen,

Petrol is around $1.55 but don't buy Diesel.

Not so much humid but hot in the sun and I have seen a few dogs here.

Do not intend to go much further north probably as far as Gordonvale then inland to Atherton.

Will be around the area for a couple of weeks if you get up this far look me up.

John

Excellent report re your blog.

If anyone hasn't got visiting Paronella Park on the must do list, do yourself a favour and add it to the list.

A truly remarkable achievement from one mans determination and love for a women, only to be dealt a massive blow,to find the

women who drove him to build this remarkable place had already married someone else. But all did not end there as he ended up marrying her sister.

I used the Mirriwinni post office as my address for 12 yearsbiggrin. Memories....

Going up at the end of the month to see my step-daughter and some friends in innisfail. If anyone's up that way it's worth checking out Josephine Falls and the Golden Hole on Russell River.

I'm told it's worth climbing Mt Bartle Frere too, but in 12 years of living right at the base of the mountain I never did climb it.

My sister [with the motorhome] lived in Whitman St. Mirriwinni for years.  Sold the house after her husband died, and travels and House-sits now.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Hi John,

If you are heading to the Atherton Tableland, make sure you call in at the recently opened memorial to the Afghanistan soldiers killed in action. It is situated on Lake Tinaroo just outside Yungaburra. Absolutely a beautiful spot.
