On the road again

This morning at the camp at Port Parham in SA I met a couple that was going to catch crabs, aksing me to go with them, never been before wasnt long before I was saying yes. I had a go at this crab catching & caught a few. Crab for lunch fore sure, that was the first time I ate Blue Crab. Hope I have coverage at the next camp. Hope this message finds fellow travellers well & happy.

Good to hear that you are on the road again, not so sure about the blue crabs. I saw hundreds of tiny blue crabs on the estuaries in Queensland but I am sure that yours were not the same type.   John

Any month with a "R" used to be considered Crab time but I think it is being restricted.
Be sure to through any females with berries (eggs) back as you should get plenty.
I am going to the "bridge to nowhere" in Port Pirie tomorrow night and will see if i can get some fresh fish and a few crabs.
Best cooked while fresh and then eaten when cool with a bit of vinegar and pepper and salt.
Regards
Brian

I'd say the little Blue Crabs you saw were what we call Soldier Crabs John.   The Blue Crab halfpint is referring to will probably be a Blue Swimmer.

Cheers,

Sheba.
